More than 1,600 people have benefited from this year’s free medical
exercise aimed at providing access and affordable healthcare at the
grassroots in Edo State.
The week-long free health care exercise, which was designed to
improve healthcare delivery, was organised by the late Mrs. Clara
Oshiomhole Foundation in conjunction with office of the First Lady of
Edo State and the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) in
the state.
During the programme, which took place at Okaigben, a rural community in Ewohimi, Esan South-east local government area of Edo State, persons suffering from various ailments were treated.
Mrs. Oshiomhole died on Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at the Abuja Clinic, Maitama, after a protracted battle with chest cancer. She was 54.
